Dr Insaf has extensive experience in the practice of Psychiatry and unique expertise in specialized services such as Genetic testing, Brain SPECT imaging, Vagus Nerve stimulation for refractory depression, Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and Psychodynamic psychotherapy.
After completing medical school in Odessa, Ukraine (the former USSR), he finished residency training in Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduation, he worked as the Medical director of Area mental Health Center in Garden City, Kansas for 4 years before moving to Springfield to join St. John’s hospital, where he worked for 4 years as a Staff Psychiatrist and the Director of the Depression Clinic and ECT services. Dr. Insaf founded EmoLogic Clinic in November 2009 in Branson, MO and currently is the Owner, Medical Director and Psychiatrist at the EmoLogic Clinic. Dr. Insaf opened a second clinic in Springfield, MO on February 6th, 2012. Dr. Mark Stewart came on board in November 2013 and Paula Wiesehan, FNP, P-MHNP joined EmoLogic Clinic in March 2014.
Over fifteen years, Dr. Insaf has been recognized five times by the Consumers’ Research council of America as one of America’s Top Psychiatrists. He was honored with a Patient’s choice award in 2012 and has been a recipient of the Physician’s recognition award in 2004 and Physician’s recognition award with commendation in 2007 and 2013. He has presented numerous lectures to Physicians and other health care professionals, covering various topics such as Sleep disorders, Psychopharmacology, ECT, Psychotherapy, Brain SPECT imaging and Brain-friendly nutrition.
